GuideWhat this site is, and what it is not
We turn real operational formulas (food cost, drink cost, staff cost, break-even and more) into fast, free calculators you can use immediately, with no account required. Every result is an estimate meant to support, not replace, professional advice from your accountant, payroll consultant, a qualified technician, a doctor or the competent authority. We do not claim our formulas or benchmarks are official, certified or guaranteed accurate; industry benchmarks are presented as indicative estimates, not official figures.
GuideFounder Jack Betti
Calcoli HoReCa was founded by Jack Betti, an HoReCa entrepreneur, bartender and Sommelier since 2017, who has been in the restaurant and bar industry since the late 1990s. He has worked in the dining room, behind the bar and in management, so the calculators are built by someone who knows the real numbers of a venue from the inside, turning real operational formulas such as food cost, drink cost, staff cost and break-even into fast, free tools. Jack is the only named person on the site; his public profile links to his Instagram (instagram.com/jackbetti).
GuideThe editorial team
Content not signed personally by Jack is curated and verified by the Redazione Calcoli HoReCa, our editorial team. This is a deliberately collective entity with no named individual members. The team checks that formulas are mathematically correct, that numerical examples hold up, and that pages stay consistent with current rules. Author profiles use Person schema, while the Redazione is represented as an Organization, so we name a real person where there is one and a clearly identified team where the work is collective.
GuideHow we work and verify
Formula, interface and editorial content are kept in separate layers, and core formulas live in isolated modules with automated tests so a result stays verifiable and repeatable. Each calculator and guide shows its author, its reviewer and a last-updated date, and the editorial text explains the formula, gives a realistic numerical example, and states use cases, common mistakes and limits. When a page uses economic, fiscal, nutritional or regulatory data, we cite sources and reference dates, and we review pages when formulas, benchmarks or regulations change. AI and automation tools may assist with drafting and translation, but every published piece is set up, verified and validated by a person on the team.
GuideHow to challenge a result
If you think a calculation is wrong, email redazione@calcolihoreca.it with the page URL, the value you entered, the result you obtained and the result you expected. For tax, accounting or health topics we re-check the report against the relevant official source before publishing any correction, so a challenge gets verified, not just acknowledged. The editorial team replies within three business days, Monday to Friday during Italian working hours.
GuideIndependence from advertising
The site is free and supported partly by Google AdSense. Ad slots are separate and identifiable, and they do not influence our formulas, assessments or recommendations. Ads load only after consent, via Google Consent Mode v2, which is set to denied by default. Inputs to the main calculators stay in your browser and are not sent to or stored on our servers.
