About Calcoli HoReCa

Calcoli HoReCa is a free collection of calculators and operational guides for restaurants, bars and pizzerias, built to turn the real numbers you run a venue on into fast, repeatable answers. This page explains what the site is, why it exists, how we verify it, where the line sits between an estimate and professional advice, who is behind it, and how to reach us.

Guide

What this site is

Calcoli HoReCa, at calcolihoreca.it, publishes free calculators and operational guides covering food cost and recipe costing, drink and cocktail costing (ABV, batches, keg and draft yield), margins, pricing and menu engineering, break-even and startup feasibility, staff and labour cost, pizza dough and pasta, VAT and Italian admin tools, wine service and denominations, and tasting sheets for wine, beer, coffee, spirits and more. The calculators work immediately, with no account required, and inputs to the main calculators are processed in your browser rather than sent to or stored on our servers.

Guide

Why it exists

Calcoli HoReCa was founded by Jack Betti to turn the operational formulas a venue lives by into fast, free calculators, so an operator can check a recipe cost or a feasibility figure in seconds instead of rebuilding a spreadsheet. The aim is practical: give working people in hospitality numbers they can act on, without paywalls or mandatory accounts.

How we write and verify content

We keep formula, interface and editorial content separate, so logic stays isolated and verifiable. Core formulas live in tested, isolated modules so a result stays repeatable, and every calculator and guide shows its author, its reviewer and the last-updated date, with a realistic numerical example, use cases, common mistakes and limits. When a page relies on economic, fiscal, nutritional or regulatory data, we cite sources and reference dates, and we present industry benchmarks as indicative estimates rather than official figures, updated when the underlying data changes. AI and automation may assist with drafting and translation, but every published piece is set up, verified and validated by a person on the editorial team.

Guide

Estimates, not advice

Every result is an estimate meant to support a decision, not replace professional judgement. The calculators do not provide professional, legal, tax, accounting, medical or HACCP advice, and our formulas and benchmarks are not official, certified or guaranteed accurate. For tax, payroll, technical or health matters, always confirm with a qualified accountant, payroll consultant, technician, doctor or competent authority. Where a calculation is only indicative, we say so openly with a clear disclaimer.

Guide

Who is behind it

Calcoli HoReCa was founded by Jack Betti, an HoReCa entrepreneur, bartender and Sommelier since 2017, in the restaurant and bar industry since the late 1990s. He has worked in the dining room, behind the bar and in management, which is why the calculators reflect the real numbers of a venue from the inside. Jack is the only named person on the site; the rest of the content is curated and verified by the Redazione Calcoli HoReCa, a deliberately collective editorial team with no individually named members.

Guide

Independence and how we are funded

The site is free and supported partly by Google AdSense. Ad slots are kept separate and clearly identifiable, and they do not influence our formulas, assessments or recommendations. Ads load only after consent through Google Consent Mode v2, which is denied by default until you choose otherwise, so the numbers you rely on are never shaped by advertising.

Guide

Contact and reporting errors

If a result looks wrong, write to redazione@calcolihoreca.it with the page URL, the value you entered, the result you obtained and the result you expected. Reports on tax, accounting or health topics are re-checked against the relevant official source before we publish any correction. The editorial team replies within three business days, Monday to Friday during Italian working hours, and our contact form never asks for passwords, payment data or member-area access codes.
